Amanda Bossard, fresh out from Anchorage High School the year 1992, began her studies in marine biology. Bossard started her commercial seafood career in 1999 when she began working on the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65' schooner that was converted into an ice-fish tender was owned by Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and have joined forces to claim their place in their business. They are both proponents conservation of sustainable, renewable sources of seafood. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor founded within Philadelphia in 2007 by a mother of two young children: Bella aged 3 and Andre one year old. In 2007, Bossard mother of two children Bella aged 3 and Andre 1, and returning to Philadelphia from her home in Canada opened otolith as a direct-market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard as well as Isabella Andre and Isabella Andre (ages 10 and 12 respectively) return each year, beginning in July of 2016 in Southeast Alaska for the summer harvest of salmon wild. Two months after fishing using hooks along with lines and a 42-foot salmon troller they have joined Aritan and then sold to local seafood processors.
